Extra Fancy Cork Oak Bowl Blank

This Cork Oak tree produced very nice wood blanks with a lot of attractive medullary rays. Flat sawn blanks will show medullary rays on the edge grain, producing turned bowls that show lovely figure on both faces! This wood was freshly milled in October of 2024 and contains residual moisture. Blanks are completely wax sealed. They will tend to twist, shrink, and check in the drying process. They are ideal for twice turning. Your blank may contain some minor checks and some shrinkage that will turn away for bowls and other turned articles. Enjoy this unique species with unique patterns!
