Friday Lumber Special

Collection: Hormigo

Hormigo, Platymiscium spp., is a finely textured hardwood from Central and South America. Trees grow to heights of 60-90 ft. with diameters from 2 ft. to 3 ft. This dense exotic hardwood has nice colors and produces woodworking projects with a high natural luster. The color in this wood can range from red and orange to darker red and brown. The sapwood is yellow to white. Hormigo wood works and machines well with sharp hand and power tools, turns and glues well, and yields a high polish.
