Collection: Cottonwood, California

California Cottonwood, Populus fremontii, is a large growing species native to California and several other southwestern states. Occasionally there are burls on the trunks. The wood is easy to work and finishes well. Woodworkers will appreciate the stark contrast between bronze-colored heartwood and creamy yellowish-white sapwood, which yields showy woodworking projects.
